The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were an instant inspiration. Their creator, Kevin Eastman was messing around with his friend Peter Laird and a first funny sketch came out. This sketch parodied other characters that were around at the time: Daredevil, the New Mutants, Cerebus, and Ronin. That inspiration was to change our childhood.
In 1984, the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles story was published and since then, the four mutant turtles have been slowly conquering the entertainment world. The kids of the 80’s and 90’s grew up watching the series on TV and the movie, reading the comics and spending their savings to buy the collectible figures.
What is responsible for their popularity still remains a mystery. The action scenes or their original story? Four turtles who mutate after being exposed to chemicals and a rat who knows martial arts. Master Splinter takes care of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the sewers of New York, names them after Renaissance artists and trains them in ninjitsu to fight crime. The cast is completed by April O’Neill (who is human) and the main villain, Shredder, a ninjitsu master and leader of the criminal organization “Foot Clan”.
Regardless of the reasons we were interested in this series, the most important topic of discussion and controversy was and remains the character. Each of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has its pros and cons. Of course, all four are prints, but we all have a favorite.

Some information about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
1) Leonardo
The big brother and the nerd of the family since he is master Splinter’s most diligent and skilled student. He walks around with a blue scarf over his eyes and uses 2 katanas as weapons. Leonardo is the leader of the four. Its name comes from the versatile Italian inventor, anatomist and painter among others, Leonardo da Vinci.
2) Donatello
Donatello is the “scientist” of the group and is always in trouble with April. While he is good at martial arts and makes excellent use of his bō, he uses his mind to find solutions to problems that arise. He creates new devices to use in subsequent battles but is usually destroyed by Michelangelo’s curiosity. Its color is purple and its name corresponds to the Italian sculptor Donato di Niccolo di Betto Bardi.
3) Raphael
The angry little turtle with the red mask and the sai. He gets pissed off easily and is the first to jump into battle. When he’s not being aggressive, he’s trolling and yelling at those around him. However, he is very loyal to both his siblings and their teacher. Its name was derived from the Renaissance painter and architect, Raphael.
4) Michelangelo
The little one of the family took its name from Michelangelo. He walks around with an orange mask, he is zen and likes to sleep but he won’t miss an opportunity to use his nunchaku.
